Does Chamomile help against cancer?

Chamomile is used as a mouthwash, to treat mucositis which means when the mouth is inflamed and sore due to cancer treatment of radiation and chemotherapy. Clinical trials show conflicting results for this use. A more recent study did not find benefit with Chamomille when used as an oral solution and did not actually help. More research is needed. A chamomile mouthwash reduced 5-fluorouracil-induced mucositis in hamsters , but data from human studies are not consistent. In patients with head and neck cancer, a water based solution of  Chamomile did not prevent mucositis during chemo-radiotherapy although preliminary findings suggest some benefit of a chamomile gel in preventing acute radiation dermatitis which means skin irritation from cancer treatment.
