Does Bromelain help against cancer?

Bromelain is an enzyme extract derived from the stems of pineapples. It has anti-inflammatory properties but has not been shown to treat or prevent cancer. Lab studies suggest bromelain has anticancer activities, but these effects have not been studied in humans. Bromelain has been proposed as additive agents for cancer therapy. Proposed mechanisms decrease the immunosuppressive cytokine, TGF-beta, which leads to direct inhibition of tumor cell growth. TGF-beta is a small protein used by our immune system to signal to the cells, meaning how cells talk to each other. Remember to get healthy for yourself, not for others.
