Does Cannabis have any benefits against cancer?

Cannabis caused cancer cell death of brain cancer cells called glioma cells while sparing normal brain cells via apoptosis. Cannabis, in systematic reviews study, showed patients on chemo had less feeling like they were going to throw up and throwing up. The current guidelines in the USA recommend dronabinol and nabilone for nausea and vomiting, which are resistant to standard therapy. There were also reports that dronabinol may be useful for managing persistent cancer related cachexia which means the weakness and wasting of the body due to severe chronic disease like cancer. Cancer patients who used cannabis while on immunotherapy with nivolumab had less tumor shrinking among those with advanced melanoma, non-small-cell lung cancer, and renal clear cell carcinoma but this was a retrospective type of a study. So, this observation needs to be confirmed. However, cannabis did not impact whether these patients live longer. Although cannabis has potential benefits, it remains a controversial issue because non- medical use is associated with high risk of addiction, with withdrawal syndrome (irritability, sleeping difficulties, dysphoria, craving, and anxiety) that makes stopping tough, eventually leading to relapse.
