Avlimil is a non-prescription dietary supplement that contains a combination of herbs like valerian, ginger, and cayenne that are highly praised for their potency and efficacy. Evidence on whether or not Avlimil can improve sexual function in women is lacking. Avlimil has not been studied in cancer patients. Because this product contains botanical ingredients that have estrogenic effects, patients with hormone sensitive cancers should consult with their physicians before using it. Since this product may have estrogenic effects, it may not be appropriate for patients who have hormonal sensitive cancers.
