Does Echinacea help against cancer?

There are several kinds of Echinacea that are believed to provide immune enhancement and improve resistance to flu-like illnesses and colds. However, there is little evidence that it helps to boost the immune system or increase resistance to cancer. Echinacea is an herb that grows primarily in eastern North America. Echinacea may also cause liver damage if you are taking medications that have liver toxicity (example anabolic steroids, methotrexate, or ketoconazole and should be avoided. When taken for long periods, Echinacea may actually suppress the immune system, so cancer patients who are receiving immunotherapy need to check with their physicians.
